This week, S.A.S.S. coordinated a week of virtual activities to foster school spirit, culminating in an all-school assembly. In a video and via emails shared prior to the events, the organizers noted, “We’ve made some amends and upped the ante! We’re not only excited to announce each of the new, refurbished, dress-up days, but also a few school-wide activities and events!” Following is a summary of the week’s events, as outlined by S.A.S.S. club members:
Monday – Spring Frock Day!
A play on the classic spring concert attire! Leave the PJs and Sweats aside and put on your best outfit and celebrate. Do you have a special outfit you didn’t have a chance to show off? Perhaps some spring frock attire you didn’t get to celebrate at the spring concert? Today’s the day!
Tuesday – Accessory Day!
A rogue eye patch, perhaps a scarf you knit in second grade, or your best beach hat? Wear any of the fun accessories you’ve got lying around the house to class!
Wednesday – Service and Color!
Today we’ll be making thank you videos for our local hospitals. Each grade will be assigned a color and will work together to recognize those on the front lines.
Thursday – Throwback Thursday!
A twist on a common theme! For today, dust off one of your favorite, already worn, spirit week costumes! Which costume earned you a certificate on the day of the pep rally? Or which costume should have won?! Remember the intent is to use what you already have. Whatever you’ve got at home or in the bottom of your closet works!
Friday – Virtual Red+College Apparel Day featuring a SASS All-school Assembly
To wrap up the week, we’ll end with the classic, infamous Red Day! The entire school should throw on their best and brightest red apparel! Ms. Parsely, we hope the big red ‘W’ is somewhere accessible–and not too hard to teach in! The senior class is encouraged to wear their college apparel as they would have worn on the last day of classes.
