April 13, 2022—Head of School Sarah Pelmas met with Winsor alumnae at a reception in New York City, marking the first in-person regional event since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Alumnae from 1969 to 2010 turned out for the gathering to see each other and hear updates from Ms. Pelmas.
Alums from across the decades enjoyed catching up at The William in Midtown Manhattan, sharing memories of beloved teachers and traditions at Winsor. Ms. Pelmas delivered remarks to the audience about the life of the school today, including the recent student-driven
solar panel project, and excitement for cherished spring happenings—such as the
Hemenways, Ring Day, and
commencement.
“Student enthusiasm for year-end events is palpable,” said Ms. Pelmas, “and seeing that reflected in the alum community at regional gatherings like this one is energizing,” she said of the New York City reception.
Director of Development Erika McMahon added, “we look forward to hosting many more in-person events—and especially to welcoming our alums back to Winsor during Alumnae Weekend May 13–14.”
