Banner Staff Attends Yale Daily News Symposium

Seventeen staff members and writers for Winsor’s student newspaper, Banner, virtually attended The Yale Daily News Symposium on student journalism over the weekend of February 27-28. Participants attended seminars on topics such as “The Journalist’s Code—and Its Contradictions” and “Dead, Dying, Reborn?: The Future of News.” They also heard from speakers including Bob Woodward of The Washington Post, Maya King of Politico, and Emily Nelson of The Wall Street Journal. Banner editors also entered several articles in the paper’s most recent issue in the symposium’s competition. Congratulations to Natalie Pan ’23 and Gigi Chu ’23, who garnered an honorable mention in the Cultural Article category for “Winsor and RL Fall Play Revisits the L.A. Riots of 1992.”
