Welcome New Faculty and Staff – 2024
As we kick off the 2024–25 school year, we are excited to welcome new faculty, administrators, and staff to the Winsor community, as well as some returning faces. While many folks are just beginning their Winsor tenures this academic year, some familiar faces started working on campus last spring and over the summer. Please give a warm Winsor welcome to our newest community members!
Euan Brown: Physical Education Faculty
Euan Brown is delighted to join the Winsor School as a PE teacher and varsity field hockey coach. Originally from Scotland, Euan brings a diverse background in sports performance analysis and coaching. He holds a bachelor of science degree in sports performance analysis from Cardiff Metropolitan University and an M.B.A. in analytics from Fairfield University. His coaching experience includes serving as an analyst for the Scottish national field hockey team, and assistant coaching roles at Fairfield University and MIT. Outside of work, Euan enjoys running, cycling, and rock climbing. He lives in Boston with his wife Sarah and their cat, Cookie.
Liz Davenport: Visual Arts Faculty
Liz Davenport is excited to join Winsor as a faculty member in the Visual Arts Department. She has over a decade of secondary- and college-level teaching experience in New York City, the Midwest, and within Massachusetts Public Schools. She is a practicing artist who received her master of fine arts at the University of Iowa, and is inspired by luminous painted worlds and the potential for expression in puppets and props. In her free time Liz loves to cook, swim, and play fetch with her cat, Pigeon.
Eve Elizondo: Science Faculty
Eve Elizondo is thrilled to return to the Winsor community as a Class II, Class III, and Class V science teacher. She earned her bachelor of arts in comparative literature and art history from Williams College and is pursuing graduate studies in biology. Eve taught English, history, and biology at Brooke Charter, and she loves to design interdisciplinary classes that encourage students to approach questions from different perspectives. Outside of school, she loves hiking with her dog, and she fills free time with photography, microscopy, birdwatching, gardening, and reading. She is also a member of BosLab, a community science organization that democratizes biotechnology, where she explores the intersection of art and science.
Juan Manjarres Polania: Facilities Technician
Juan Manjarres is from Colombia, and immigrated to the USA with many hopes, dreams, and goals to achieve. This is his first experience working in an educational environment. He brings a mechanical background to the role and strives to have a positive outlook and good attitude along with a willingness to learn new things. Juan is happily married with two wonderful children. He loves spending time with his family and enjoying soccer.
Claire O’Brien: Advancement Assistant
Claire O’Brien is excited to join Winsor as the advancement assistant. She earned her bachelor of science in information science from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2022 and moved back to her home state of Massachusetts after graduation. She has spent the last two years working remotely in digital marketing and events, and is thrilled to be working in person at Winsor. Claire resides in South Boston with her partner and loves to bake gluten-free cookies and cakes in her free time.
Kathryn Segner: Science Faculty
Kathryn Segner joins the Winsor community as a chemistry teacher in the Science Department. After growing up in small-town Wisconsin, she obtained her bachelor of arts in chemistry from Vanderbilt University followed by her master of science in physical chemistry at the University of Chicago. Kathryn spent three years teaching at a boarding school in western Connecticut before moving to Brookline with her cat, Birch. She enjoys cross stitching, playing volleyball, visiting her niece and nephews, and exploring the many museums in Boston.
Gillian Sjoblom: Bookstore and Accounting Associate
Gillian Sjoblom is thrilled to join Winsor as the bookstore and accounting associate. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, she moved to Massachusetts to attend Wellesley College where she earned a bachelor of arts in international relations and political science. Gillian currently resides in Somerville where she enjoys crafting, playing board games, gardening, and finding new spots for live music around the city. She comes to Winsor from the Bridgespan Group where she worked as a finance associate and she is excited to be a part of the Winsor community!
Emma Towne: Assistant Director of Board Relations and Stewardship
Emma Towne is thrilled to join Winsor’s diverse community of learners as the assistant director of board relations. Originally from Massachusetts, Emma graduated from Magdalen College of the Liberal Arts in Warner, New Hampshire in 2019 with a bachelor’s in politics. Emma has worked at area nonprofits organizations for the past five years, most recently at the Catholic Schools Foundation in Boston. She currently resides in Brighton and enjoys exploring Boston, cooking, kayaking, and delving into a good book.
