Winsor Squash Player Takes Top Honors
The Winsor Varsity Squash Team has long been a leader in the Eastern Independent League (EIL). In February they swept the league championship, not losing a single match as they landed their 14th championship win. In 2023, the team sent two students, Caroline Eielson ’24 and Judy Liu ’29, to the British Junior Open, a competition considered the world’s most prestigious junior squash tournament, attended by elite junior squash players from all over the world.
In November, Judy garnered additional recognition when she achieved the number-one ranking in the United States in the under-15 age category. This incredible accomplishment comes less than two years after she reached the number-one spot in the under-13 category. In sharing the news of her win, Winsor Squash Coach Szilvia Szombati shared, “Judy’s dedication and hard work year-round have truly paid off, and we couldn’t be more proud of her success.”
