Winsor Students Compete at BOSMUN Conference

February 10–12, 2023 — On the heels of the successful WILDMUN conference with Roxbury Latin at the end of January, 28 Winsor students attended the BOSMUN model UN conference, hosted by Boston University students at Marriott Copley this past weekend.

The event, with over 1500 attendees overall, was the first in-person conference for several Winsor students, and the final conference for seniors Allison Chan ’23, Annika Cunningham ’23, Lauren Hogan ’23, Nicole Hwang ’23, and Jane Kelley ’23. Students spent the weekend engaged in collaboration, teamwork, and debate. Three Winsor students received awards: Susanne Pogorelec ’24 (Ghana, Sustainable Innovation Forum) and Ainsley Wang ’24 (Uzbekistan, Economic Social Commission for Asia and Pacific) received an Honorable Mention, and Ella Paterniti ’26 (Ecuador, Organization of American States) received a Verbal Commendation.

Many thanks to Winsor Model UN advisors Jean Berg, Ann-Marie Holland, and Michael Mirelman, who chaperoned the event. Up next, students will attend the NHSMUN conference in New York City in March.
