Karen Geromini

Chief Operating Officer

B.S., Sports Management
University of New Hampshire

A consummate team player, Karen Geromini transfers her experience on the field from her time as a student athlete—she played field hockey, basketball, and tennis in high school, and went on to captain field hockey and lacrosse teams in college—directly to her role as chief operating officer at Winsor.

Karen began her career in independent schools at Thayer Academy, and first visited Winsor’s campus during Under the Lights, Winsor’s annual homecoming celebration, when Thayer came to compete against Winsor students on their own turf. She was immediately taken by the deep sense of connection and mutual support among the students; when an opening for athletic director came online in 2001, she jumped at the chance to join the Winsor community.

Since then, Karen has led the organization from many seats: she added external programs to her A.D. role, was named director of operations, and eventually earned her current title, overseeing all aspects of campus operations. She oversees the facilities, business, and dining services teams, ensuring everything from buses to payroll, and campus planning to crisis response run seamlessly. Whether overseeing Winsor’s capital projects and or community initiative, Karen centers the student experience in all she does, and sees that focus as a common goal for everyone who works and teaches at Winsor. Karen loves coming to work every day—she can’t imagine being anywhere else.
